After the request of the contraction I ask that as soon as action is had on the chief&#039;s appreciation I may be [illegible] [illegible], as almost every member of the tribe expects some relief on favor to [illegible] from the wish the chief repays you, and they are not willing to do anything untill he returns and they hear the result of his mission for the chief to return as soon as possible, and if he regards his pledge to aid in the emmigration he will do so.&lt;br /&gt;

I have just returned from the forts of the Wabash where I have held a council with the Miamis on the subject of their emigration. I had previously made known to them my instructions from the [illegible] in relation to their removal. But on this occasion their being in attendance all their principal men I [illegible] them and required an answer that I could transmit to you. After I had concluded the conversation [illegible] [illegible] to them of his [illegible] and [illegible] to go on with the [illegible] migration and urged them to [illegible] in [illegible] to [illegible] without delay. [illegible] them [illegible] and the [illegible] held a private conversation. After which we were called in and received the following [illegible].&lt;br /&gt;

They wished me to write to their Great father that they knew that by the Treaty of  1860 they agreed remove to their new homes last fall, that they had been permitted to remain untill the [illegible] [illegible] for which they were very thankful; that their Great Father had always been very kind to them and that they would always listen to him. That they were willing to remove to their new homes as they had agreed to do. But that many of them had cows horses &amp;amp; other property together and sell it, that they would get themselves [illegible] ones, and by the first of August they would take as by the hand and go to their new homes without giving their Great Father any trouble.&lt;br /&gt;
