W. Alexis Coquillard informs us
that he has applied through the [illegible]: C.W. Cathcart for a comeback
for the removal of the [illegible] of the Potawatamie, Ottaway,
and [illegible] Indians, [illegible] to be [illegible] in the
2 chr: of the Treaty made at Chicago on the 26th Sepr 1833.-
W. Coquillard is the old. Trader of these [illegible], +
could [illegible] successfully than any man Ive know of,
called them together and remove them west now that
the Government has secured a county on the Kansas for
their final and permanent home.
W. Coquillard has been settling up the details
of the late Miami Emigration with us, and we are highly
[illegible] with this conduct throughout if we honest, [illegible],
and energetic, + so for us we have [illegible], satisfactory to
the Indians _ he is very kind, and [illegible]to there for
[illegible]; is will acquainted with all their events and will
work harder and give himself [illegible] trouble to cottage [illegible],
and [illegible] to their wants, than are man [illegible] have ever
seen amongst them.
Should the [illegible]: Indian Department see [illegible] to give
a contract to W. Coquillard for the removal of these [illegible],
the thiefs from [illegible] to boo the [illegible] of Evening Chute [illegible]: of
this [illegible] will [illegible] have to [illegible] funds, and provide
the Miami's for its property, satisfactory, and successful execution, +
will sign bonde for its performance + faithfully [illegible].
