The families of the 4 chiefs (Ko-assee, Mese-quah, White Loon
and Rivarre) I named to you in my last letters, and which Messrs Hamilton + Benoist refers to) are now very small and we will do all in our power to persuade them to go: these chiefs returned with Lafountain.

---Some of them I learn are better pleased with the country West, than they expected to be; Ko-assee, (now the first chief) was very well pleased with the Country you lately gave their Pottawotomee friends, in the <u>Kanzas</u>; and could they get Country <u>there</u>, I think all the tribe not required by treaty to go can be Induced to Emigrate
