After my stating to them the object of my business, their reply through their Interpreter, was that, they had made no calculations ^<sup>of remaining</sup> as that Season had come to the conclusion that they were [there was?] one annuity yet to be paid them at that place and they wished to pay off their Debts and appoint a Delegation to go and look at the country assigned them, and they would then be prepared to move West, as early in the spring of this year, as I wished or seen proper.

The contract that I purchased of Thos Dowling Esq of Indiana for the removal of said Miami Indians, I am fully aware has to be carried on under his name.

And I design leaving for Fort Wayne early in March to carry into execution the said Contract, and would be uch plased to hear from you by return mail.
