Sir,
I have had the honour to receive your letter of the 2<sup>d</sup> ultimo with the circular of the secretary of War of the 1st ult.

Your letter of the 3<sup>d</sup> ultimo acknowledging the receipt of two letters from me of the 19th & 23d ultimo.

Your letter of the 6th ultimo informing me that the statement of Mess. Murry and Hart was placed on file in [illeg] office, and

Your letter of the 16th ultimo directing me to report to and turn over the Miamies to Col. A. L. Vaughan sub agent I shall obey this order with cheerfulness, I feel that I have been nobly sustained by the Department in all the difficulties I have had to encounter in effecting the emigration of the Miamies, and with their various claimants, and it will afford me pleasure to introduce Col Vaughan to them as their future Agent, and to wish him a less troublesome administration of their affairs than I have had.
