N.B. The Hon: John Pettit M.C. advised us 3d. Jany 1847 that the commissioner of Indian Affairs had not yet decided upon the amount due Mr. Sinclear as Removing Agent & would delay for further information.

And we respectfully submit upon the point, as to the length of time of his services, the enclosed deposition of Mr. James Avaline, who then resided amongst the Miamies, speaks their language, and is intimate with their business; he is an honorable and worth man.
