	When at Washington city, I [illegible, very light] recommending the immediate removal of a few of the Wea tribe, still living in the Wabash. I have ~~[illegible]~~ through ~~[illegible]~~ Ewing ~~[illegible]~~ to be informed ~~of [illegible]~~ a branch of the Miamis. I am [~~illegible~~] informed believe they are. On the emigration of the Weas to their present country, this remnant of that tribe, remaining with the Thorn town Owing to a large part of the Miami tribe not being present at the treaty made by Genl. Tipton in 1827 or 1828- for the cession of the [Thorn town~~'s?]~~ reserve as it was ~~eating~~ [acting?] and feeling unsatisfied ~~[?],~~ with the transfer of that reserve without the consent of the whole Miami tribe. They afterwards [illegible] their words[?] from a participation in the Miami annuity. This [illegible] party counts principally of women & children in great parity, without the means of subsistence during the ensuing winter. I cannot [debate?] their being a Branch of the original Miami tribe. They speak the same language. Tipton in 1827 or 1828- for the cession of the Thorn town reserve as it was [acting?] and feeling unsatisfied with the transfer of that reserve without the consent of the whole Miami tribe.
