Osage River Sub Agency November 5 ^th 1846.

Dear Sir, Agreeable to instructions from you I have accompanied the Miami Indians in their emigration from Peru, Ia. to Westport, Mo.

From careful observation I can state that the contractors have amply provided the Indians with provisions for their subsistence on the route, of good quality, and entirely satisfactory to the Indians themselves. No complaint of scarcity of provision has been made by any Indian within my knowledge, to which the contractors have not immediately attended-- and I am acquainted with many instances in which the Indians surfeited with abundance have wasted much of their provisions.

I, L. C. Bean a justice of the peace within and for the county aforesaid do hereby certify that on the 11th day of November 1846 before me personally appeared Wallace B. White of lawful age being by me duly sworn deposeth and saith that the contents of the foregoing communication are true to the best of his knowledge and belief. Given under my hand this
