I had the services of eleven men who were employed by the contractor to assist in driving and managing the ponies; I was furnished with money by the contractor to defray the expense of the trip including the subsistence requisite for the ponies.

The ponies were properly fed and cared for during eht trip from Peru to the mouth of Kanzas river, and on their arrival there they were delivered to their new homes here where they arrived this day.
