Sir

When at Washington city, I [illegible, very light] recommending the immediate removal of a few of the Wea tribe, still living in the Wabash. I have [illegible] through [illegible] Ewing [illegible] to be informed of [illegible] a branch of the Miamis. I am [illegible] informed believe they are. On the emigration of the Weas to their present country, this remnant of that tribe, remaining with the Thorn town Owing to a large part of the Miami tribe not being present at the treaty made by Genl. Tipton in 1827 or 1828- for the cession of the [Thorn town's?] reserve as it was eating [acting?] and feeling unsatisfied [?], with the transfer of that reserve without the consent of the whole Miami tribe. They afterwards [illegible] their words[?] from a participation in the Miami annuity. This [illegible] party counts principally of women & children in great parity, without the means of subsistence during the ensuing winter. I cannot [debate?] their being a Branch of the original Miami tribe. They speak the same language. With [illegible] due difference
