I am of opinion that the superintendent after counselling the Indians should select a proper person for a Physician--If he can get the contractors consent it will [solve] all difficulty & he ought to get it if he can.

Respecfully referred to the Secy of War, for his opinion whether the Dept. shall name a Physician, direct the sent to name one on consultation with the Indians, or leave the matter to the contractors.
