In the letter which you did me the favor to write to me on the 16 June last, you stated that the expectations upon which the dft of Mr. Dowling for $6000 had been drawn, had not been realised, tho it was possible they would be, during the (then) present season.

Will you do me the favor to let me know whether the expectation, there referred to, have yet been realised, & if not, whether they are likely to be so within a short time.
